Grateful!

“I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.” (Psalm 118:17)

Today I sit in front of my laptop, Grateful!

Grateful for all the stuff that I’ve been through, for All the tears that I’ve cried….Grateful that God overlooked all the mistakes that I’ve made and still loves me…..

My past is far from spotless,  in my youth I made stupid decisions, drugs, promiscuity, endured both mental & physical abuse, craziness!

I just recently had a nasal scope and the doctor wanted to know if I had ever suffered a broken nose because she noticed that my Septum was crooked. My mind instantly went back years ago to the abuse that I suffered.  God brought me through that…..he gave me the strength to break free.

Grateful is the only word that I can think of that describes this feeling that I have every time I think about the journey that I’m on now……finally received my bachelors degree, finally releasing my children’s book….finally walking in the footsteps that have been laid out for me.  FINALLY appreciating my God-given strength. Yeah, I should have accomplished all of this years ago, but I’m here now and since I have the opportunity, I won’t waste another minute, not another seconds on the what if’s.

Through it all, God has kept me and today, I am a better person.  My prayer is for each woman to stand up and recognize you deserve the best.  You were created by the best and you deserve the best.  I’m so glad that God chose me and anointed me to go through some of the worst experiences in life.

Now, I am a witness to many that You Can Get Through It! Whatever the It is in your life. To my Daughter, You can Get Through It, To my Sisters, You Can Get Through It, To my Nieces and Great-Nieces and all of the women that read this, You Can Get Through It!

If you’re in an abusive relationship, you don’t have to be.  If you’ve accepted a non-productive relationship so you don’t have to be lonely, you don’t have to do that. If you’re living beneath your privileges, you don’t have to.  If you are made to feel less than who you really are, don’t believe it.  If you’re lonely, you don’t have to be.

God never created you to live like that…..he loves you! You were made to blossom, to shine, to run with the wind, to live like there is no Tomorrow.

I am Grateful for a husband that appreciates my strength, Grateful for Children that love me for who I am, Grateful for 8 beautiful Grandchildren that I pray learn to live life the way that God intended for them.

Today, I choose Life and I am Grateful!
