The Colors Of God

GodCover

When I wrote the book, The Colors of God, I had no idea of how important this message would be in 2016.  This picture book  is the result of a dream that I had where children with different colored faces, (blue, purple, yellow, white, black, blue),  were playing ring around the rosie at the feet of Jesus.

When I woke up I immediately begin to write this story about a boy named Eugene who wanted to know what color God is because he had been told different things from different people, he’s black, he’s white, etc.  The message of the story is that the color of God is Love and that mans skin is the covering for our skeletal system.

I wish that we, Adults, could understand this same thing. Our skin is simply a covering over our internal selves. If you notice, on the book cover, you purposely cannot see Jesus’ face.  That was done so that we could see him as Love and not as the color of man.  And his hair, which is glory, is covering the children of ALL Different Cultures. God Loves us All!

Our world is in a sad place and throughout my 56 years, I continue to see history repeating itself.  The color of a mans skin dictates whether the man is accepted into different social circles, places of employment, residences or even in the hearts of others.

Let us teach our children something different than what we see going on.  We are all the same. Yes, we come from different cultures, eat different foods, dance different dances, like different music, worship in different churches and venues but those that have died at the hands of violence and those of us that remain….we all bleed RED BLOOD. We are the Images of God.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

Peace…..Ms. Ellie’s Girl
