There’s No place Like Home

Home

As a young child, the one place that I had a special place in my heart for was home.  I remember my grandmother entertaining in our home, people playing cards, eating good food and sharing moments of laughter.  Me & my brother Eugene would take whatever we could find and make a tent in the front yard of 171 Pennsylvania Ave and star gaze. So many memories, so many moments where love was the inevitable. I have extremely fond memories of the place I called home.

Now that I’m older, I still have that same love for that place called home. But I’ve also discovered that it’s not the house that makes it home, it’s the love that is inside the building and the memories that are created with the people that you love and connect with. That’s what makes your house a home.

Home can be found on a long walk while holding the hand of the one you love, it can be found in a school room where those that surround you share the same dreams that you have.  Home can be found in a hospital room while holding the baby that you nurtured in your womb and it can be found while staring in the face of the mother & father who scarified their hearts desires to see you blossom.  Home is a feeling that is deep inside of your soul, it’s warm, safe and comfortable. You’ll know it when you find it because there is no other place in the world like it.

I pray that in your lifetime YOU find that place called home. And I don’t mean a duplex or a country home or a mansion filled with stuff that have no real value. But my prayer is that you find that place where you can rest, take your shoes off and enjoy the moment.

As you grow and mature, you’ll find that there really is No Place Like Home.

PEACE, Ms. Ellie’s Girl
